Confusables for Android: Support
For help with the app, a problem report or feedback, you are welcome to email contact@confusables.io. A description of what happened and, if available, the app and Android versions can help us investigate. The app version is usually near the bottom of Settings › Apps › Confusables, although device menus vary. You choose what to include; please avoid sensitive writing or unnecessary personal information about children.
About the app
Confusables is an educational practice app. Practice and writing checks work offline on your device. No account or login is required.
Common questions
Why wasn’t a word flagged?
The checker looks at context and is cautious. It does not flag every occurrence, can miss an error and can flag wording you intended. Suggestions are advisory; the app never changes your words by itself.
Can I recover a comment after the app restarts?
Drafts, comments and practice results are kept only in memory and are not saved. Going home from the writing screen can keep them while the app is still running; leaving practice resets that session. If Android ends the app, the information cannot be recovered. Writing you want to keep needs to be copied elsewhere before the app closes.
Are my comments published?
No. The writing screen is a local practice thread; its comments stay on your device.
Does it need internet?
Practice and writing checks do not. The Contact button opens your email application, and the Privacy link opens your browser; those applications may need a connection.
