Privacy Policy for Confusables for Android

Effective date: October 11, 2026

Confusables for Android is an educational practice app. No account or login is required. Privacy and support contact: contact@confusables.io. Support

Your writing stays on your device

Practice questions and writing checks are included in the app and work offline. Your writing is checked on your device. The app does not send your writing, answers, comments or findings to the developer, to an API, to an AI service or to anyone else, and it does not use your writing to train models. The writing screen is a local practice thread; posting a comment there does not publish it online.

The app does not ask Android for permission to use the internet. When you choose Contact (or the Privacy link), the app hands off to your email application or browser, which are separate applications with their own connections.

Advertising, tracking and permissions

The app has no account, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK or third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

Temporary app state

Drafts, local comments, likes, practice answers and checking results are held in memory. The app does not save them to files, a database, an account, a persistent history or cloud storage. Going home from the writing screen can keep its draft and comments while the app is still running. Leaving practice resets that practice session. If Android ends the app, that temporary information is lost and the app cannot recover it. Android backup and device transfer are turned off for this app. There is no account or stored practice history to delete.

Your keyboard, clipboard, dictation service, Android and your device’s manufacturer operate separately. Their handling of text and diagnostics depends on your settings and their policies; the app does not control them.

When you contact us

Contact opens your email application with our address. It does not send a message by itself and does not attach your draft, findings or diagnostic information. You choose whether to write and what to include. Please avoid sending sensitive writing or unnecessary personal information, especially about children.

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you include. Mail sent to contact@confusables.io is received by Apple iCloud Mail and may pass through other email service providers we use to send, receive or forward mail; those providers process it to deliver and store it. The developer reads support messages. We use correspondence to answer support and privacy requests, not for advertising.

We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful for support, related follow-up or privacy requests, or as the law requires. You can ask us to give you access to, correct or delete information you sent us by emailing contact@confusables.io, and we handle requests as the law requires.

Android and Google Play diagnostics

Android and Google Play process information according to your device settings and Google’s policies. For people who have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data, Google Play may give the developer crash and application-not-responding reports; the developer uses them to investigate reliability. This is Google’s service, not collection by the app itself, and the app does not run its own analytics or diagnostic collection. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

If you take part in pre-release testing of the app through Google Play, the developer may use the email address added to a tester list to manage the test, and receives any feedback you choose to send through Google Play’s private feedback (open and closed tests) or by email. Google handles test participation under its own policies.

This privacy page

Opening this page, including from a link in the app, makes an ordinary request from your browser to this website. Cloudflare provides hosting and security and may process information such as your IP address and browser details, and may set a security cookie in some circumstances. Cloudflare may also run its own security scripts on this page; its optional web analytics is switched off for this website. This page has no advertising, no external fonts and no form for practice text. The website’s online demo and hosted API are separate and are described in the website privacy notice.

Children and families

The practice features do not require anyone to give a name, age, school, email address or account. Parents and guardians may write to the developer with privacy questions. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information about a child. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s email, and we will handle that request as described above.
