Privacy Policy for Confusables for iOS

Effective date: October 20, 2026

Confusables for iOS is provided by Shavkat Juraev. It is an educational practice app for learners of all ages. No account or login is required. Privacy and support contact: contact@confusables.io. Support

Practice information

Practice questions, quiz questions and the word-checking engine are included in the app and work offline. Your writing is checked on your device. The quiz is bundled with the app, so it needs no connection and does not use the word-checking engine. The app contains no code that sends your practice text, practice or quiz answers, scores, quiz results or comments to the developer, the hosted Confusables API or any other service, and it does not use your writing to train models.

Drafts, findings, practice answers, quiz answers, comments and likes are held in the app’s memory. The app does not save them to files, an account, a persistent history or cloud storage. Leaving the practice test clears its answers and scores.

In Take A Quiz, the answers you choose and the Quiz results screen that shows them are kept only in the app’s memory, for as long as the quiz is open. Quiz results mark each answer you chose as right or wrong. They are not a total score and are separate from practice scores, and the app does not keep a quiz history. Going back to Home from a question or from the results clears the quiz, and the next Take A Quiz begins at question 1 with nothing answered. Switching to another app does not necessarily clear a quiz while the app is still running. Closing the app, or iOS ending it in the background, clears it.

Returning Home from the writing screen can keep drafts and comments while the app keeps running. Closing the app clears them, and iOS may close the app in the background.

Advertising, tracking and permissions

The app has no advertising, tracking, third-party analytics SDK or separate crash-reporting SDK. It does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or location. Your keyboard, dictation, screenshots and other system features are governed by your settings and their providers. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

Contacting the developer

The Contact button opens your email app. It does not send a message by itself or attach your practice information. If you email the developer, your email address, your message and anything you include are delivered to Apple iCloud Mail. Only the developer reads the mailbox that receives these messages, apart from processing by Apple. We use correspondence to answer support and privacy requests, not for advertising.

There is no automatic deletion schedule. We keep correspondence while it is useful for support, for related follow-up or privacy requests, or as the law requires. You can ask us to give you access to, correct or delete information you sent us, and we handle requests as the law requires. There is no account or stored practice history to delete.

Apple statistics and diagnostics

Apple may give the developer aggregate app statistics and, for people who have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers, crash and diagnostic reports. The developer uses them to investigate crashes and improve reliability. The app does not run its own analytics or diagnostic collection. Apple’s practices are in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

If you test a pre-release version through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple automatically shares crash reports and usage information, such as sessions and crashes, with the developer. If you were invited by email, the developer can see the address used for that invitation; if you joined through a public link, Apple does not show your name or email address through that invitation. Feedback and screenshots you choose to submit through TestFlight are also shared with the developer. The developer uses this information to investigate crashes and improve reliability. It is Apple’s service, not collection by the app itself; see Apple’s TestFlight privacy notice.

This privacy page

Opening the Privacy link makes an ordinary browser request to this website. Cloudflare provides hosting and security and may process information such as your IP address and browser details, and may set a security cookie in some circumstances. Cloudflare may also run its own security scripts on this page; its optional web analytics is switched off for this website. This page has no advertising, no external fonts and no form for practice text. The website’s online demo and hosted API are separate and are described in the website privacy notice.

Children and families

The practice and quiz features do not require anyone to give a name, age, school, email address or account. Parents and guardians may write to the developer with privacy questions. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information about a child. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s email, and we will handle that request as described above.

Changes and questions

History. October 6, 2026: first published version. October 7, 2026: the paragraph describing this website’s own services was updated because Cloudflare’s optional web analytics for the website was switched off. Nothing about what the Confusables for iOS app collects or does changed. October 7, 2026 (second revision, same day): added the TestFlight disclosure above, a Support link and a Support page, and gave the iOS pages their own navigation without the website’s generic notice. The app’s behavior did not change. October 20, 2026 (third revision): described Take A Quiz, a third module on Home, which is part of app version 1.2. The quiz questions are bundled in the app, and the answers and results you see are held only in memory and cleared when you leave the quiz. This page also adds the quiz to the practice information and the children section, and the Support page now explains all three Home modules. The app does not collect anything new for the quiz, and the sections on email, Apple, TestFlight and this website are unchanged.

We will post updates on this page with a new effective date. For questions or privacy requests, email contact@confusables.io.
